A Journey Rooted in Nature

From my earliest days growing up in the beautiful Southwest and Wheatbelt of Western Australia, the natural world was my refuge and my inspiration. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, I found being in nature not only uplifting but deeply therapeutic. It was this profound connection that guided my decision to study Environmental Science, as I felt a strong desire to give back to the environment that had given me so much. My journey also led me to study Sustainable Development, deepening my commitment to creating a better future for our planet.

There was, however, a turning point in my life when I was experiencing significant stress. It was during this challenging time that I turned to mindfulness, seeking solace and clarity in the practices that helped me reconnect with myself and the natural world. This healing journey led me to study meditation, nature therapy, coaching and psychology, each of which added another layer to my understanding of how we can nurture our wellbeing through nature.

These threads—my love for the environment, my academic pursuits, and my personal healing journey—began to weave together into something more significant. This convergence of passions and experiences led to the creation of Mindful in Nature, where I now have the privilege of guiding others in connecting deeply with nature.

Through Mindful in Nature, I aim to offer more than just a moment of peace. I strive to create mindful experiences that foster a heartfelt connection with the environment, promoting both personal well-being and a sense of responsibility toward protecting our planet. It’s about feeling the rhythms of nature, understanding our place within it, and living in a way that honours the Earth.

Being recognised with the Sustainability and Innovation Award by the Joondalup Business Association is an incredible honour. It reflects not only the work that Mindful in Nature does but also the journey I’ve been on to live my purpose. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the natural world that has given me so much, and I’m excited to continue this work, helping others discover their own connections with nature.

Let’s continue to prioritise being and feeling in nature, for it’s through this connection that we find the strength to champion sustainability and safeguard our beautiful planet for future generations.
